Egypt offers so much to the visitors and locals alike that you can spend weeks exploring the country. However, since both of us work full-time we only had a week to check out various sites around Egypt. Here’s a brief summary of our itinerary.

Day 1:

• Fly into Cairo
• Relax at the hotel in the afternoon
• Sound and light show at the Giza pyramids

Day 2:

• Fly out to Luxor
• Visit Karnak Temple
• Visit Luxor Temple
• Check-in to the cruise on the Nile river

Day 3:

• Hot air balloon ride over the Nile
• Valley of the Kings
• Hatshepsut temple
• Collosi of Memnon

Day 4:

• Wake up at 3 am to check out Esna lock
• Temple of Horus at Edfu
• Kom Ombo temple

Day 5:

• Disembark at Aswan
• High Dam
• Philae temple
• Fly back to Cairo

Day 6:

• Drive to Alexandria
• Roman theatre
• Catacomb
• Quytbay citadel
• Alexandria Library

Day 7:

• Pyramids and Sphinx
• Ride camel in the desert at Giza plateau
• Antiquities museum
• Khan-el-khalili market
